Berlin January 6th 1877.

My dear Lady Thompson
I can only send you a few words, thanking you for your kind letter, by which you gave me so real pleasure, but only, I wished your health were much better!
I return with all my heart your kind wishes for us |2| dearest Lady Thompson. I think my best wish for you is that you might be recovered quite. My children thank you so very much for your kindness to them, perhaps Eugenie will accompany me to London this year.
I must spare all what I wish to account you, until February, when I see you; we only returned to Berlin eight days |3| before Christmass, and remain here only one month quiet, that will say preparing for our great journey, so you will believe how very much [?] hurry we are, par-ticular Marie, who has to care for all – she is mother, sister, daughter and friend at once! she begs, you will excuse her, if she does not write herself.
Now, my dear Lady |4| Thompson, I sheak you hands, and send you my love, with which I am
yours very sincerely
Clara Schumann.
I am as glad, Miss Burnand feels so much better.
